The Character Bazaar lets you sell a character to another account and buy one for Account Medivia Coins. The rules below describe what the bazaar enforces at every step, from listing a character to the moment it changes hands. The numbers are the ones currently in force.
1. General
a) Currency
Characters are traded for Account Medivia Coins only. Coins kept on a character must be added to your account balance before they can be used here.
b) Anonymity
Bidders and buyers are not named. An auction shows only whether you hold the lead, and the history shows no names.
c) Public listing
Everything a listed character has is visible to everyone: stats, skills, equipment, inventory, stash, bank balance, outfits, quests, blessings, skulls and revenge marks.
2. Selling a character
a) Which characters can be listed
Character offline: The character must be completely offline when it is listed.
Server save: The character must have gone through a server save since it was last logged in. Log it out and wait for the next server save to finish before listing it.
Market offers: The character must not have any active market offers.
Houses: The character must not own a house or have an active house bid.
Guilds: The character must not be the owner of a guild, and its guild must not be at war. Its guild membership and pending guild invitations are removed when it is listed.
Banishments: Neither your account nor the character may be banished.
Listing fee: You must have enough available Medivia Coins to cover the listing fee. Coins reserved by your own leading bids do not count.
b) Listing fee
Listing costs 10 MC, paid from your available Account Coins when the auction is created. The fee is not refunded, whether the character sells or not.
c) Prices and duration
The starting bid is at least 50 MC and at most 1 000 000 MC, snapped to the bid steps.
A buy now price is optional and must be at least one bid step above the starting bid.
You choose how long the auction runs when listing: 3, 7, 14 days.
d) While the auction runs
The character leaves your account and cannot be logged into until the auction ends. It still occupies one of your character slots.
You cannot bid on or buy your own character.
If nobody bids, the character returns to your account when the auction ends.
3. Bidding
a) Minimum bid and steps
The first bid must be at least the starting bid. Every later bid must exceed the current bid by at least one step, and by a whole number of steps.
The step grows with the price: 5 MC below 100, 25 MC from 100, 50 MC from 1 000, 100 MC from 5 000.
b) Your bid is a maximum
The amount you enter is the most you are willing to pay. The current bid only shows as much as is needed to stay ahead of the second-highest maximum, one step above it.
When someone bids below your maximum, you keep the lead automatically and the current bid rises to answer them.
c) Reserved coins
While you hold the lead, your maximum is reserved from your Account Coins. You cannot withdraw or spend it until you are outbid or the auction settles.
Raising your maximum replaces the reservation rather than adding to it. You cannot bid more than your available coins.
d) Bids are binding
You can raise a bid at any time, but you cannot lower or withdraw one.
Whoever leads when the auction ends pays the current bid, not their maximum.
e) Last minutes
A bid placed in the last 5 minutes extends the auction so that 5 minutes remain.
4. Buy now
a) Price and unlock
The buy now price is shown from the moment the auction starts, but it can only be used 24 hours after listing.
b) Buying
Buying pays the buy now price from your Account Coins at once and ends the auction. Standing bids lose and their reserved coins are released.
You cannot buy your own character, and you need the full price available.
c) A bid that reaches the price
A bid at or above the buy now price is a purchase at that price.
Before the unlock, the buy now option closes, the current bid becomes at least the buy now price and the auction ends at the unlock instead of running its full course, unless someone bids more first.
After the unlock, such a bid is handled as a buy now purchase.
5. Cancelling an auction
a) Who and when
Only the seller can cancel, and only while the auction is running.
Without a bid, an auction can be cancelled at any time. Once a bid has been placed, cancelling is only possible within the first 24 hours after listing.
b) Fee
Cancelling costs 10% of the current bid, with a minimum of 25 MC, paid from your available Account Coins. The listing fee is not refunded.
c) Effect
The character returns to your account at once, and the leading bidder's reserved coins are released.
6. End of the auction and transfer
a) When an auction ends
An auction ends at its end time, at the buy now unlock when a bid has reached the buy now price, or at once on a buy now purchase or a cancellation.
b) Payment
Ended auctions are settled within a few minutes. The winner pays the current bid from their Account Coins, and the seller receives it minus a 10% fee.
If the winner cannot pay at that moment, the auction fails and the character returns to the seller.
c) What the buyer receives
The character moves to the winner's account with everything it has: equipment, inventory, depot, stash, bank balance, outfits, quest progress, blessings, skulls and revenge marks. Soulbound items bound to the seller's account are re-bound to the buyer.
The character receives a newly generated name, and its old name is retired for the usual cooldown. Its VIP list is cleared, and it logs in at its home temple with fresh stamina.
A bought character does not need a free character slot. If it takes you over your slot limit, you cannot create new characters until you free or expand a slot.
7. History
a) Public record
Finished auctions stay in the bazaar history for 30 days with the character as it was listed, the outcome and the final price. The history is anonymous and shows no account names.
